Terms of Use

1. What 4WayList is

4WayList is an online auction venue run from Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada. It connects buyers and sellers; it is not a party to any sale. 4WayList in no way makes any representation about the items being auctioned. All representations belong to the seller, and the buyer acknowledges that 4WayList is only a vehicle for auctioning items as represented by the seller.

2. Accounts

• One account per person. Your account lets you both buy and sell.
• All buyers and sellers must verify their email with the 6-digit code before bidding or listing.
• A profile photo is required.
• Members who identify as Rotarians are shown a "Rotarian" title; everyone else is shown "Guest".
• Keep your login private. You are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Bidding

• Bids are binding. Do not bid unless you intend to buy.
• Minimum bid increment is $1.00 CAD over the current bid.
• A bid in the final minute extends the auction by one minute, repeating until a full minute passes with no bid.
• The highest bid at closing wins only if the seller's reserve price is met. If the reserve isn't met, there is no sale.
• All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD).

4. Fees — buyer pays

• The winning buyer pays a Stripe service fee of 2.9% + $0.30 CAD on the bid price, in addition to the winning bid. The exact total is shown before you pay.
• The buyer also pays all shipping costs.
• Sellers receive exactly 90% of the winning bid. 10% of the winning bid goes to Rotary Projects and Foundations.
• Seller payouts are sent automatically to the seller's bank via Stripe once the seller completes the one-time payout setup. Sellers who have not completed setup are paid manually by 4WayList.

5. After the sale

• The winning buyer must pay promptly through the site's checkout.
• The buyer arranges pickup or delivery with the seller within 15 days of winning. If pickup or delivery is not arranged in time, the purchase is forfeited.
• Buyer–seller communication stays in the site's private messaging. Do not share email addresses or phone numbers.

6. Selling

• Describe items honestly with accurate photos. Prohibited items will be removed.
• Set a starting bid, a reserve price (shown only as reserved/unreserved — the amount is never displayed), and an end time.
• Expired unsold listings are removed; you may relist.

7. Ratings & disputes

• Buyers and sellers rate each other from 1 to 5 stars after a completed sale.
• If a dispute arises, contact the other party first, then raise it through the site. 4WayList administration makes the final determination.

8. Liability

4WayList provides the venue only and is not responsible for the condition, accuracy, legality, or delivery of listed items, nor for the actions of buyers or sellers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, 4WayList's liability is limited to the fees it retained on the transaction in question.
